This brief case by Eva Chang emphasizes, yet again, how physical ailments are so often linked to our unresolved emotional issues. In this case, Eva's client would consistently break out into hives whenever she talked of a specific abusive incident. The incident was emotionally resolved in short order with EFT and, as expected, the hives faded into nothingness.

Last week, I worked with a young girl who was raped at age 14. She also has a history of being abused physically all through her youth. I chose to work with the sexual assault, since it was a single incident.

This girl has not been able to talk about the incident without extreme emotional distress. In fact, she always breaks out in hives on her neck and upper chest, whenever she thinks about or talks about this incident.

I used the Movie technique with her to go through the incident once through. At the end, when she relived being abandoned in a parking lot, I had her adult self go back and comfort the young girl. Although we had some pretty intense moments, we avoided the breakout of hives by tapping on the issue as she started to break out. Due to time constraints, I was not able to go back and replay the movie during that session.

Today, she replayed the movie and had a slight bit of anxiety, which we eliminated. She had no hives, and was able to laugh in delight as we realized that she had been freed from the emotional intensity of the incident.
